I just changed the setting to now allow larger profile pictures.

The profile picture is larger than your avatar. The profile picture shows up in two places currently - your member profile page and the members list. It's usually a picture of yourself or a company logo, something to that effect, but can be anything, really.

The avatar, on the other hand, is the little picture that appears below your username next to each of your posts in the forums. You can edit that picture here:

There's even some nice avatars you can use right away, even if you don't have a custom one of your own! The avatar is meant to be fun, can be a picture of you, can be anything you want. It helps other people recognize you as they view posts in the forums.

The following is a piece of software for your Windows computer and it allows you to create screenshots or crop existing pictures, perhaps you'll find it useful to create your avatar or profile picture, it's called Screen-Shoot-It.

I hope you find this increased size allotment for your profile picture useful! Feel free to re-upload your old one if it was previously resized by the website smaller than you had wanted it to be, it will probably appear better now.
