Let us all rejoice.
We have two new forums today. Ornamental Bananas ![]() This forum is for discussions of ornamental bananas. Ornate bananas are beautiful and a joy to grow. And there are so many types to discuss and learn about. Hydroponics ![]() Got soil? No? Well you came to the right place. This forum is for discussions of all hydroponics related discussions. Discuss techniques, media, equipment, lighting, and all other on-topic discussions of hydroponics. Please we need your help to organize all the old threads, send me or your favorite moderator a list of the threads that should be moved into these new sections so they do not seem empty. They do not deserve to be empty as there are many threads around here that would go well in the new categories. We hope the new forums encourage more discussions and information sharing on the topics, they probably now deserve their own category and were asked for by popular demand. Also, we renamed the Tissue Culturing forum to now be "Tissue Culturing & Other Propagation Techniques of Banana Plants" as its probably more descriptive of the essential category idea that we had in the first place. Thanks to Chris, Jack Daw, and Randy for the suggestions. If we could have 1 more forum category here, what would it be? |

The only problem I have with the subdividing of threads is that the member may miss many interesting threads, unless (s)he makes an effort to visit every section. Basjoo and Zebrina are ornamental, but I grow them in an area that's colder than most here, so I also look at cold hardy bananas.I also grow Dwarf Cav and Blue Burmese, so these are not ornamental, and I have to post in another section even though I'm still in a colder area. When do we stop the subdividing?

We also have links to view the new posts, the daily posts, as well as the unanswered posts. Everyone has their preference as to how they want to explore the site.
There is a balance Howard for forum categories and while we may not have it right we continue to evolve and adapt. The idea also encourages posts that would have not otherwise been made, and overall that helps more people get involved also. |

I'll admit that I almost solely use the new posts link, which would cover all sections. Just thinking out loud here.

Jarred, I think these sections are a great idea for people trying to find information. If a new member joins several months after some rousing threads about ornamental bananas, we can point them at the section link and they can find most of what they are looking for in a single night.

I support new forums on board.
Whan somone is new with bananas it is much more easyer to find usefull informations whan U have direct subforums and for more expirienced members that shouldnt be a problem becouse everyone allready knows how to search forums and find what they need. And course we mustnt forget thread derailng wich is common member "duty" ![]() ![]() ![]() P.S. I like hydro.. ![]() |

That is a very good news that the new hydroponic and banana forum has been started . It will be very useful for the beginners like us to get the knowledge. Keep going on and post some new threads so that we can discuss more.
