I just installed a new system to our site that allows you to thank people for their post. Under each post is a button that looks like this:



When you click it, your name goes on a little list that will appear under the post.

So if you ever wanted to give kudos for a post but didn't want to do a complete reply (or if you didn't really have the time to and really shouldn't have been here reading posts anyway), this is a quick and easy way to quickly give your 2 cents worth and show some appreciation to the poster.

Also, under everyone's username, you will now see the stats that show how many times that person has said thanks to others and how many times people have thanked them.

I think this will be very useful around here and I hope you guys use it well and enjoy it.

Please let me know if you experience any bugs with it, if it does not seem to work right, or otherwise.

It's a nice gesture but I'm not a fan of this. Too much stuff on the page for me. I like the page to be cleaner and easy on the eye.

Jarred, i think Mitchel has a point there, as it is obvious who you are thanking
you could shorten the text to one line. Maybe only "Thanks for posting this..'

Why do you have to express thanks to someone for a post? If you read it, that's cool. It just seems like a new little toy that really isn't needed (like all the bells and whistles on my cell phone, DVD player, etc.)

You don't have to.. its just a nice gesture you can do if you want.
What we have here is a community and its something that helps to strengthen the community feel.
I'm working now on changing it around so its trimmed down a bit.

Hi does any one have any idea as to the use of comercial fertilizer ver. organic and if so where do you get it from? I was told to use 6-12-6. How importan are the numbers ?

I used to grow bananas way back till Andrew destroyed them,so I have some experience.I find this site to be very informative,non like it.With more free time I will become more frequent with this site.

How about a picture of the MONTH?
Members do send in alot of pictures. Some of them are truly spectacular!!!
We could all vote on a picture the 3rd week of the month.
The 4th monday, the picture would be selected.
We could even make a calendar out of those pics!

Awesome idea!
I'll experiment with the scripts a bit and try to find a nice way to do it.
I like the calendar idea as well. Let's try and get 12 pictures setup for a 2009 calendar.
