1,000 + on the map!

We've reached another milestone. We now have 1,003 members who put their pushpin on the map. Have a look and add yours if you havent added your spot yet:

You can always mark something nearby, it does not have to be your exact location. Just give us an idea so the overall birds eye view reflects our membership

...... and we have only ? subscribers to the magazine. That's a lot of people who don't know what they're missing!

Just out of curious, how would one go about removing a spurious pushpin from the map? I have two, and I don't need both of them....

EDIT - Nevermind, both of my old pins seem to have disappeared, so I've re-added a new one. How odd.

Bob, Momo, do you see the little line of button "Find me on the map!"? It's under your avatar and location in the lefthand panel of each post. Click that. It takes you directly to who you're looking for, no messy pins to deal with.

I get the pins when I click that. That's actually the only way I've ever looked at the map.

Really? I get a zoomed-in location of the person I clicked on. Must be Safari vs. Firefox/IE...

It does zoom in but won't show the pin until all of them load. I'll have to try on my pc laptop.

Well on my pc it does the same thing only faster. Maybe it's a VB setting? I use Opera on the Mac and FF on the pc.

The link that zooms you into a particular members pushpin still takes time to load all of the other pins in the background. I do agree that it would be better if it just loaded the one pin you're requesting. Although if that were the case you couldn't see who the person was near. It wont be everything to everyone the way its coded one way or another, best is to just wait for it to load... till we come up with a better solution one day, that is. Appreciate the feedback though, certainly not falling on deaf ears.
