I'm hoping to get two of these South African aloes native to the Drakensburgh mountains. They grow in an interesting spiral pattern in either a left or right orientation ( Ideally want one of each). Also any other South African aloes wanted. Happy to pay for or trade... let me know. |

Just got one, Bob..., 11-23-2009 07:40
I purchased one this past spring from a nursery in North Carolina, but my eldest daughter took it with her to school and loved it to death. Overwatered!!! I was able to find this lady out of the Atlanta area that found some and Randy's Nursery that were half off. She was kind enough to purchase it, pack it up and ship it to me for the just what it cost her!!! They are definitely one of the most unusual aloes I have seen. Another aloe from South Africa that you need to try to find is Aloe aristata. I have one outside right now that is blooming and hopefully it will overwinter for me. I got it from a gentelman in southern GA who gave it to me to try. He claims it is the hardiest aloe he has ever had. Best of luck and if you know anyone in the Atlanta area, you need to have them go to Randy's Nursery, in Lawrenceburg and grab you one. Well worth the money as they are nice sized gallon plants!!! |
