Hey all, I just wanted to throw out this offer for the fun of it. This is the first year my Windmill Palms have produced seeds, and I finally harvested the seeds last weekend. They are currently soaking in water to get ready to clean them. They should be ready within the next couple of weeks. I have over 2 pounds of seeds and thought it would be fun to see if any of you would be interested in doing some trading. I do not like to sell anything on here, and enjoy trading, so if any of you would like some Windmill palm seeds and have something tropical looking to trade, let me know. I have included a pic of one of the trees I got the seeds from. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Take care and LET THE TRADING BEGIN!!! |

Randy, you're lucky! Both of my trachies that flowered were males. I was excited about seeds...my other plant should flower next year. Let's hope it will be a female. The cool thing is that my butia is getting ready to send out two inflorescences in the spring. I can't wait to make jelly since this palm doesn't require male and female.

Randy, mine has just sent out two that look like sticks coming from the trunk. I think they will open in the spring if the cold weather doesn't damage them this winter. I think it's common for butias to extend their inflorescence in the fall. Do you think any of yours will open in the spring?
