1 gallon Phyllostachys nigra (Black Bamboo) FOR SALE OR TRADE http://www.lewisbamboo.com/pblack.html I took these divisions in early spring. They are smallish and could stand to stay potted until next summer. I would be happy to trade for something of equal value. Bamboo does not ship well bare root, it will dry out and die while in the mail system. This will be sent in a flat rate box with moist soil intact and leaves well misted and wrapped in plastic. Buyer pays flat rate shipping of $9. |

It gets up to 30' tall and 2" in diameter. Usually 25' tall and 1.5" diamerer. Mine is not full grown yet, but I have researched it.

It is a runner although less aggressive than most it does take some maintenance to keep it from spreading. I go around mine with a shoval a few times a year to severe roots that are growing out farther than I want them to. Anything that comes up in spring from those roots is run over with the lawn mower and the separated root will soon expend it's stored energy and die without support from the main plant. It is also bordered on one side by concrete which makes it a little easier.
