If you upload pictures to your gallery here at bananas.org they will automatically be watermarked with the small logo you see. I store my photos on Photobucket, Tinypic, or PBase if not banana related. Most of my photos that are banana related get stored here in my gallery but I also keep copies of the original files in the original size.

Some people think that but who knows, either way it's pretty cool looking! There are many other pics of the same eruption showing burned but not completely destroyed coconut palms. The camera angle does make it look huge but it was only about 3 stories high.
Here is a good picture for size comparison. Notice the still standing coconut palms at the edge of the flow on the right side.

This was taken in my backyard in june. Apparently a volcano erupting in Japan caused some breath taking sunsets for the east coast fo the USA, and even though it was cloudy on this particular day, the sky is still very colorful and unusual.
I also got in the fronds of my huge potted pygmy palm to add a little tropical effect.

Sunflowers are great! I used to plant all different kinds (there are some sweet red ones and a fuzzy orange one (think it's called teddy bear or something). I also find it very interesting that farmers have to plant them in rows that go North-South so that when the heads follow the sun they don't scrape across each other and cause seeds to fall out. Interesting, huh?

I love those Teddy Bear ones! I think all my sunflowers this year were retarded. None of them moved to follow the sun, but then I planted one long row east to west LOL. It's either that or they were just too big to move.

Okay, here's a fun one....not quite like the others we've had on here, but try it out!
Just look intently at the white dot in the center for 30 seconds, then look away to a blank white surface. You should see an afterimage of the American flag in its normal colors!
http://home.versateladsl.be/vt637630/img2/afterimage_flag.gif
This is caused by the cones in your retina becoming bleached from staring at the original image, which causes complimentary after images to appear. Hope you liked it! I have plenty more nerdy optical illusions if you're interested!

If you like optical illusions this is a pretty good one. As long as you continue to stare at the dot the buildings will be in color, the second you look away from the dot they go back to black and white. Watch the dot until the bar fills all the way.

Patty, the image changes back and forth, but it never looks normal until you stare at the dot. Wait until it looks like a color negative with a empty bar at the bottom(no words), then start staring at the dot until the little bar on the bottom goes all the way across. At that point it will change to a black and white photo but your eyes will see the picture in true colors as long as you keep staring at the dot. After a few seconds it will restart again.

Well, that's indicative that you have an uncurable, inoperable disease and are going to die in less than a week. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news. LOL...j/k j/k! It works better for some than others. And it works better for me at other times even. It kinda depends on how big the image is, how much of your periphery is included when you're looking at it and the white surface you use to view the afterimage.
Mitchel, that building thing was CRAZY! Absolutely amazing! Thanks!

:pics:
Btw, a few days ago somebody was curious about how old our house was cause of all the real old antiques in the attic. I said kind of old and told somebody that the speaker & stuff probably belonged to my great great grandad. I was wrong. Sorry.
Dad said it's only about 20 years old & the stuff is antiques he bought :(.
But the beads were gram's!
Also, the gargoyle and geod arent antiques... thought they were :o.
Mitchel, dad let me take a lot of pics of the insides of the old radio! He even said he'd take a movie of it working when he's finished! Will post that stuff!
This is an old 1943 radio dad found in an antique shop. Only needed 2 resisters and a capaciter to make it work. Not sure what those do but he fixed it and plugged it in. Works super! Station noises get mixed together when ya turn the little knob to switch channels but he got Mexican music playin on it loud & clear!
Here's some pics of the radio & the insides. He made a movie of it bein turned on & playin the Mexican music! Movie was too big to upload, though. The limit's 4.8 mb but the file's 36.7 mb for about 3 minutes of movie.
Put 9 photos in my "Antiques" gallery if anyone wants to see more of the insides of the radio. Btw, it doesnt turn on normally. Takes some time before the light gets bright and the sounds start, even after ya turn it on.

Well, there's an entire description to go along with the coffee bean photo that I didn't originally include:
Doctors have concluded that if you can find the face in the coffee beans in 3 seconds, the right half of your brain is better developed than most people. If you find the face between 3 seconds and 1 minute, your right half of the brain is developed normally. If you find the face between 1 minute and 3 minutes, then the right half of your brain is functioning slowly and you need to eat more protein. If you have not found the face after 3 minutes, the advice is to look for more of this type of exercise to make that part of the brain stronger!
Oh, and Beth...looks like your spider has crabs! :ha::ha::ha: Sorry...too perfect of an opportunity to let that one slide by.

Bob: Is that the species that offers the meal to the female who kills him after they mate?
If that IS a crab spider, any male spiders (within reach) had better hope they're gay LOL!
LilRaverBoi, Thanks for the info on the coffee beans! I must have experienced a brief moment of enlightenment since my brain is usually asleep!
