, in Kentucky.

The day of the debate the parking lot was packed to the street and more.
A few personal remarks
I have been to the museum and went through it with an open mind......very interesting.

The museum is a destination attraction.....there are no in state license plates on the cars in the parking lots.
The museum boasts
A planetarium......A good one.
A huge holiday light show in the gardens.....FREE
One of the largest high quality fossil collections in the world .....Big
A small zoo ......good for the kids.....FREE.
Maybe one of the the largest zip line attraction in the region....Over lakes and gardens.
A tropical garden with some of the largest specimen plants I have ever seen.....FREE
And last but not least THE BIGGEST BASJOO MAT IN THE REGION......Impressive....FREE

IT doesn't sound like a Museum.....does it.

Hypertufa time......can't do anything out side....So I do this till the weather breaks
Hypertufa planters on vintage silver plate chafing dish holders repurposed from the local resale shop.
2 of the 8 will auction at the local hosta daylilly plant sale this summer.
I will plant these with mini hostas and small ferns.

and fishing gear was checked after pic was taken.Wow! Tough place to fish. Mr. Cocoa tossed out his catch net in the Indian River (dock where he lives) and caught some over-sized mullets which ended up on my hook. Only thing I caught were blowfish! I've had them before sauteed in copious amounts of butter cooked over a campfire in an "make do skillet". I didn't die though they were caught/prepared by a bunch of PA teenagers who hadn't a clue how to prepare them. Fond, yummy moment of my life. Oh to be that young, stupid and unknowing again! (BTW, they also fetched field corn to serve; 10 lbs of butter to 10 ears couldn't make that palatable.)

I have been told that whiting and mullets are inedible for people. Well, when I was struggling to feed my 18 year old DS on limited funds I discovered whiting fillets at Murray's (strange store for bottom feeders in the DC area of which I had suddenly become one). I invented fish burgers (think crab cakes without the kick) which he happily ate because it was there and 3 filled him up; I had one to his. I did serve salad and something else.

They were good IMO; I would eat them again

When I was really poor in college I tried to turn a can of mackerel into something approaching the canned salmon cakes my mother served when I was young. It seems that cats love mackerel; Kat does not.

Great pic, thanks. I used to work with LN2. Must be careful careful. Always. Also liquid He. Biggest problem is entering an area where LN2 concentration may be high. Need to move quickly - in and out!!!. Sorry for the walk down memory lane! lol

This is the only explanation I can find about this image "Banana sucker growing in the field. Photo by IITA (https://flic.kr/p/9T3KEP)" they don't mention the cultivar, it appears to be a sucker that grew 12" and then it produce a flower.

Apis dorsata , the Himalayan honeybee also called Giant honeybee, is the world’s largest honey bee. Single adults can measure up to 3.0 cm in length. It is highly adapted to its highland habitat in behavior.
So far it has only been identified in the mountainous regions of Bhutan, the Chinese province of Yunnan, India, and Nepal. It mostly nests at altitudes between 2,500 and 3,000 m , building very large nests under overhangs on the south-western faces of vertical cliffs. One nest can contain as much as 60 kg of honey. The bees forage at altitudes of up to 4,100 m.

In nearly 4 years of living in Arizona I had not seen a single rattlesnake. Yesterday, while hiking in Madera Canyon, I had my first encounter. It was on the side of the path. Another family had spotted him and had been trying to get him to move--severly agitating him. It was a ten minute standoff. He wouldn't move and we wouldn't pass.

Funny story! Went to HF to exchange a faulty sensor thingy $16.49.
Ended up looking around and picked up a 22ft. solar rope light $10.99, 4pk 9v $5.99, battery terminal cleaner tool $1.99
Being the player I am, upon check out, I attempted to flirt with the cashier who was extremely caught off guard!
I seriously (but jokingly) asked her if I could fill out an application, she told me to go online to do so. lol
She then asked me if I get HF coupons in the mail...No? She then gave me a card to fill out my email info and stuff after making sure I saw her wink at me 2 or 3 times.
She then started complaining about allergies after the other cashier saw her winking!
While filling the info card out, I gave her my card to slide, didn't realize she did not tell me my total cost.
Started to get in my truck, looked at receipt and realized I did not pay for the batteries and battery tool! $8 saved, worth the trip!
IDK if she was just sooo flirty confused or if she just wanted to make sure I came back. I get her number next time...

When people show off my "creation" as theirs and want me to stay away from their bragfest, I start thinking how much damage my little Felco pruners can do and could do even though I know that what I've accomplished in less than 2 months looks healthier and is already producing more than they've achieved in over 2 years which the important people know and in the end it doesn't matter...but it's still irksome.

This was a raid, I have seen raccoons devastate a nest but not a coyote yet.
Sometimes when I walk the beach raided nests is all I see and then other times these little guys are still hiding in the reef.

Those Sun Flower Plants :}Got none of those; I have managed to collect a few hibiscus that are doing very well. The rest of my efforts here? Pretty much toast. The pepper I brought potted in what I thought was trash soil from Jville has 2 nearly red peppers on her and the pot that held 4 DC pups (my hurried and 1st separation--fail) that died has one coming up after months of nothing. Guess that dirt was decent or better than here. (I was just ready to replant it with some other failure and there she was.)

Weird gardening here...we need rain...real rain. Who the heck said this was the rainy season? Someone who lives in the Sahara and thinks 2 drops is a monsoon? Sheesh.
