I discovered some little orange red bugs hanging around my Calico pepper a week ago there were only 5 of them now they multiplied. Wondering if you guys can help me Identify them, and Advise if they are friend or foe.

It looks very similar to the oRange aphid but most of the aphids I've seen look like giant Fleas.

did this plant have any aphids prior to this new infestation?

When I got the plant, it didnt have any.... but it was very scarwny and under watered. Right now Im not sure what they are, I tried looking up Aphids and I only find pictures of the really small ones these are pretty big and they hang out on top of the leaves. It looks like they have been eating the skin off the pepper and nothing else I will have to inspect it closer tomorrow.

I can't see the back legs that clearly, but if they have a wide flat part on the back legs they are probably juvenile leaf footed bugs ( a variety of stink bug). The larval stage looks a lot like larval assasin bugs, but the assasin bug only has straight thin legs. Assasin bugs good---leaf-footed bug bad.
