I have two banana trees, one of which I've had for almost three years now. Due to the fact that I have always lived in a apartment the plants are potted. The biggest one is in the biggest pot I could find at a home improvement store and is about 6ft tall. My problem is that now what it has gotten this size it is very difficult to move it back inside. I was wondering if there was a way i could overwinter it or if i should just struggle and try to fit it back inside? I've read the post of how to overwinter (dig up the plant keep it dry and dark) but I'm not sure if this is the best rout for me since the plant is potted. Keep in mind that the plant has to go back into the pot if I take it out. What is my best course of action? Thanks everyone!

First of all, weather or not you could keep it outdoors over the winter depends on what type of banana it it. Personally, I would try to get it back indoors for the winter. If you have to cut all the leaves off with the exception of the top one or two. That will make it easier to move back inside and not do any real harm to the plant.
