I was just curious, does anyone here have any house plants in their bedroom? I could use some ideas on which plants to choose for dark indoors.

I have a large peace lily (spathiphyllum), a variegated rubber tree (Ficus elastica 'Variegata'), a zz plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia), mother-in-law tongue (Sansevieria), dragon plant (dracaena marginata), variegated schefflera (arboricola), silver queen (aglaonema), hoya (carnosa) - oh and pothos (Golden and Marble Queen) in my bedrooms.
In addition to Jananas' suggestions you can add chinese evergreen (Aglaonema commutatum).

Well, right now I have the following:
-Spider plant
-Prayer plant
-small Traveler's Tree
-6' Musa Ice Cream (LOL)
Once it gets colder, I'm moving the rest of my jungle indoors (since I have no choice in Zone 6) so it will become much more tropical! I always had a TON of plants at home in my room too (Brazilian bananas, cacti, aloe vera, ficus, corn plant (the houseplant...not actual corn LOL...but I do live in Iowa!) etc)

In addition to everything that's just outside (and keeps trying to get in), I keep Aroids in my bedroom - that would be: Dieffenbachia, Anthurium (particularly from Sec. Belolonchum), Philodendron (the Meconostigmas, mostly, but I've also got that old standby P. scandens), Spathyphyllum, and Aglaeonema.
Other excellent shade-adapted plants suitable for indoor growing include Kohleria, Chrysothemis, Justicia, almost any fern, spider plants, and most of the succulents as long as you can give them direct light (my faves are Kalanchoe/Bryophyllum, Aloe, and Aeonium.)

My bedroom faces north, and gets very little sun, and NO sun during winter. I have in my bedroom: Pothos,(Neon and Marble queen, and solid green) and Chamaedorea Elegans (Parlor Palm). Most of my plants (about 35-40) are in the living room, kitchen, and a few in the dining room. Living room faces both south, and east, the rest just east, so plenty of light and direct sun as well.

North-facing bedroom windows aren't very conducive to growing anything that needs intense light, even in the winter. http://i944.photobucket.com/albums/ad284/ph3lps2/screen-capture-16.png
I'm still trying though, with an HCM and Misi Luki just for kicks. They're doing fine.

Here's my bedroom now! The ceiling is 8.5' tall. I can't wait to see how massive my Ice Cream is by the end of next summer!!

Oh, and actually it has another much larger leaf since the one touching the ceiling!

I used to have a few large Yucca elephantipes, a Monstera deliciosa, a Dwarf Calamondin Mandarin, Key Lime and Musa acuminata subsp. zebrina. They all did fairly well, it was rather dry though so spider mites became an issue on the citrus and banana, but the others were fine and easy to manage. I also had a couple Phalaenopsis orchids, one of which bloomed continuously for about 2 years. Those did well and were very easy too.
