:2180: Hi mitchel, doing links is way too high tech for me, but it was listed today. I have banana as one of my searches and It goes right to it. reserve is not met yet.

I can't find it on ebay. All you have to do for the link is copy and paste from the address bar. Here is the link to this thread for example. http://www.bananas.org/showthread.php?t=974

good luck with it anna,it sure is PURTY! I would love it , but it is too small (I think) to put into dormancy, and I don't have the room to carry over another plant this winter in cold zone6

Thanks, but I probably can't get close to the reserve price. :(
I think that Mitchel should buy it! Or someone on here at least! :goteam:

Outbid already! And it's at $100 with almost six days to go!

Anna, that auction hs along way to go.I wouldn't pump up the bids too early. That other bidder has bought other bananas , but nothing pricey. She may quit soon.

It's real neat looking but am only interested in edibles. Keep in mind the crazy money the last one brought and also the fact this plant is only 12" tall and I'd be willing to bet the seller is measuring the total height, not the p-stem only which means it is really about a 6" plant. On the bright side if you buy it and get it going strong you know that it's pups will be worth quite a bit.

I'll bet at the last minute someone will come in with a super high bid.

Thanks, but I know that one will be out of my price range by the time the auction is done. Maybe I should paint white stripes on a couple of my plants and pretend it's Ae Ae!:2208:

White paint, huh? I wonder if I could raise the value of a few pups by spraying bleach on them?

Don't waste your money!! Stop the bidding :2723: !! Tony Avent of Plant Delights has this species in tissue culture, according to a source that says that he talked to him the other day and told him that. That was posted on another board, so take it for what it's worth. I know that he did have one plant that he brought back from Thailand that died (supposedly), so I'm sure he's been actively searching for another. If he has it, you can be sure it went straight to the lab for TC. Anyhow, the price for the last one went for over $450 (Same seller, btw). You can be sure that a tc plant will not sell for anywhere near that price. Hopefully, it can be tc'ed...

I don't want to post the link, because I don't want this fellow receiving buckets of email from everyone who reads it. You understand. :camelnaner:

Ok its ending today and its at 112 bucks. I can't believe that the AeAe went for 355 and this is as low as it is. This is a much harder to find plant.
I did talk to Tony Avent yesterday and yes, he does have this in TC. YAY!!!!!!!!!!

I would think within a year or 2 probably( no promises however). I didn't ask when, just if he really did have them in TC. He also has a very neat variegated Ice Cream that he's watching in his garden.

Mitchel- I saw it for the first time a little over a month back. I asked him about it. He said he had left it out last winter to see if it was hardy. I asked if he had a spare just in case. He said no. I am glad it made it through this past winter. I have pics of it, but I am still using film. Gabe wants to see the pics and I will post them when I get them developed. I promise.
