My wife came home from work early and not feeling well, and it's been really hot here in LA so I made her some ice cold pineapple sashimi. :)

I prefer yellowtail or smoked salmon, myself....but that does look pretty tasty!

Looks great, but what is sashimi? I know it's a dumb question but, I know what sushi is but what makes this sashimi? It's just pineapple chunks to me.
I love that plate BTW.

Patti , sashimi as opposed to sushi is just slices of raw fish served ..... as just slices of raw fish. I tend to get this more than sushi when I go out.

Mitchell ,I think I'll do this too but alternate some salmon, yellowtail and tako(octopus) in between............haven't even had breakfast yet!

I haven't had breakfast yet either..but it isn't 6 yet...

I think that Mitchell's version of sashimi looks best. I am not partial to raw fish, unless I am really hungry and it is cooking slowly.

I hope your not talking about having sashimi for breakfast Bob. I'm going to have a doughnut with my cofee right now! Maybe we'll go to the sushi bar for lunch if it's really hot again today.

No but it wouldn't be the first time. This mornings breakfast was a cheesesteak!

I hope you don't eat that octopus raw!!! I love (& make) octopus boiled then marinated in my It dressing. I could eat that now for breakfast.

Mmmmm....octopus! Don't tempt me, Bob!!!! There's this Japanese restaurant me and my sister go to for sushi that has an octopus salad that is to DIE for! It's sooooo good! And for the record, I could eat sushi/sashimi for any meal of the day (or EVERY meal of EVERY day LOL :ha:).

LOL...yeah, sushi is pretty expensive, huh? When my sister, her BF and I go out together, we usually spend well over 100 for the three of us.

It's rare that my wife and I get out for less than $80 The saving grace of living here is all the asian markets that sell sashimi quality fish so we can make our own at home! Not as fun or fancy but still tatses great.
