Yay I'm so excited to be the proud owner of these two ae ae pups! Let me know what you think of them, thanks again Greenie:waving:

Wow...not just ONE, but TWO!? You must have quite the banana budget, huh? LOL.

Oh...and I just realized the ironic truth that the colors of the AEAE leaves bear great similarity to the colors of American currency. Hmmmm....well, they don't have any cheesy purple 5's printed on there, but the rest of the colors are pretty close, huh? You should check to see if you can find Benjamin Franklin's face hidden in the pattern of the leaves LOL!

Could you say where those beautifully wrapped plants came from, surely not normal mail. I've never been that lucky.

Beautiful! How long are you planning on keeping them in pots?
Where did you get them from? Last but very important question: how do you pronounce the name?

Thanks,

Last but very important question: how do you pronounce the name?

Hmmm...that IS a good question! I always just say AEAE like the letters....but I might just be ignorant on that.

On that matter...this brings me back to the pronunciation of Ensete 'superbum'.....is it SUPER BUM....or SUPERB UM. I think the latter is correct, but it does have a pretty super bum if you've seen the plant! LOL :ha:

I think 'Ae-Ae' is pronounced "ah-eh ah-eh", if I'm not mistaken, though I most often hear it pronounced as "eye-eye". It is a Hawaiian word and really should be written A'e A'e. As for E. superbum , it is pronounced superb-um.

Brent is right, with some other slight sound added in that I can't figure out. Gabe posted some mp3 files a couple of years ago. Here's a link to where I posted a link to Gabe's mp3 files previously. http://www.bananas.org/f2/pronunciation-5846.html#post50811

At least my memory isn't gone yet.
