Ok so I just moved to south Georgia on the coast and love all the new plants I can now get. Well I just planted 2 red bananas (rojo), do I have to now dig them up for the winter?

Welcome to the site! I'm unsure about the zone in S GA, but you might be okay (again...don't quote me on this). I hope you enjoy it here...the site is full of great information and knowledgeable people! Be sure to browse the forums/wiki pages for info and if you have more questions, just ask!

Welcome, Red bananas are not very cold tolerant, so you probably will have to either move them into a container (keep the dry unless you can keep them above 60 F). The other method for over wintering is to store them bare root in a cool place like a crawl space or a basement.

Welcome aboard, Bunnie :) ! I'm unfamiliar with Rojo but most bananas will go dormant as temps drop into the 50's. Once they're dormant, watering should stop & feeding should be Very minimal. Be sure & check with other members in your zone.
It's a very friendly & info-packed site, here, with lots of experts on virtually all aspects of banana growing (which also extends to many other tropical & sub-tropical plants). If ya have any questions about using the forum, just ask.
Enjoy!
