I was just woundering if all of you are as addicted to banana plants as much as me ? I donot think there is any hope for me now. Im digging up my lawn so I can plant more banana plants ? I dream about them Im always looking at yards when im driving looking for them The other day I saw some that someone left behind they looked so neglected I wanted to dig them up and rescue them. It all started when I was at WalMarts and saw two plants that looked half dead I took them home and nursed them back to health then I found this Banana Org and that was it. There is no turning back now.
Anyone addicted like me ?

Oh, yeah....I'm with ya 100% on that, bud! I'm a total naner addict! I keep deciding to myself 'NO MORE...I already have WAY too many!' But then I end up buying another one in a few weeks!
But at least this is a healthy addiction...could be much worse! (we're not doing blow, H or tina....just growing amazing plants!)

I am in such trouble, living in Minnesota and I am trying to turn my deck into a tropical paradise ( living in a townhome can't plant in the ground)for at least part of the year, I have 5 banana's now and several citrus trees,:0519: UFF DAH!

lol, all of us are like that, Greg! Except since I live in a place where bananas are pretty common ditch weeds, it's worse for me..... I currently have about 150 plants, I have no more space, and I am just about to ''rescue'' a pair of Gros Michel pups that I saw on an abandoned lot (I'm not going to attempt to take the mother of the mat, she's over 20' tall) and I have no idea where I will put the poor little things.... PlasticHut, here I come!

It's contagious! I went from 1 little basjoo to 13 varieties in 3 years. Would have to cut down 90 ft. tall tulip poplars for more sunshine in my yard.
:goteam:
I have no more room left and got 4 plants today with 3 or 4 more on the way! This doesn't include the multitude of pups that I will give away eventually.............come on lottery, I need more land...........fast!:ha:

Lorax,
You wouldn't want to part with one of those Gros Michaels would you?
I was up to 13 varieties in a months time and way past that not to mention lots of citrus and others by the 6 month mark.. I think my husband went bananas each time he came home and the bananas kept multiplying!! Bananas seem to just suck you in!!.. You can litterally watch them grow!! I think I have to keep trying untill I get my first crop.. Then! Lost the house and all my plants to a fire!! Starting over but not giving up!!.. Two really nice folks here on Bananas.org have sent me a few new ones!! Wish me luck and keep my neighbors from burning stuff in their yards and walking away!!
Greg,
You just joined the best club you could have!!
Congrats!!

its normal in a few years you will sort out the ones that are you favorite and pair down to a more reasonable hobby just have fun or maybe you wont LOL i have many and no more room for more but i like to keep thing spars so you can see the individual plants thats a good way to limit you self its nice thou to plant around a space so you don't see the rest of the out side world LOL Keeps the Riff Raf out LOL
