FYI Several seed sellers on eBay (this is not me or anyone I know) here's one ad:

GUNNERA MANICATA GREAT SHOW PLANT HARD TO FIND SEEDS - eBay (item 190313175447 end time Oct-05-09 17:29:19 PDT) (http://cgi.ebay.com/GUNNERA-MANICATA-GREAT-SHOW-PLANT-HARD-TO-FIND-SEEDS_W0QQitemZ190313175447QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0 ?hash=item2c4f8c9997&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116)

They are pretty reasonable - less than $5 including shipping.

Hey Blake09, a tip from someone who's killed a few. They should do much better in your climate than here. I have seen them 12' tall in Ireland and was never able to do that well with them as much as I really love that plant........They need water..........lots and lots of it. All the specimens I saw doing well were streamside or right next to a pond. If you're unable to do that I'd try heavy amending to the soil and overwatering oin a regular basis AFTER it's rooted in and growing.
Good luck with it, I hope to see a picture of your 12 footer next summer.
