Hi Everyone! My name is Theresa. I live in PA. In a suburb near Philadelphia.I love all plants, flowers, but especially tropicals. Love Brugmansias.
Hubby & I just installed a hot tub and built a deck & pergola around it. Now I have high hopes next summer for a tropical paradise with some bananas!
Love them, but was really afraid to get involved with trying to overwinter or protect them. Now, I think I'm ready to take that step. Although, I have hopes of finding zone hardy ones.
I started with a dwarf cavendish last year, grew substantially over the summer. Removed alot of pups from it. I overwintered it successfully. This summer it produced alot more pups. One of which, I planted in the ground, Mom is in a pot. Well, that pup surprised the heck out of me. It's almost as big as the mom, and not one leaf shredded!
Now I own a Bordeleon(sp?) and two small m. Basjoos.
I'm in the process of converting all my housplants and tropicals over to hydroculture, including nanners.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone and learn alot more!

Theresa

Welcome aboard, Theresa :) ! Like Bryan says, this is the right place & sounds like you guys have a clearly thought out project going! DC (dwarf Cavendish) Are fairly prolific pup makers, I've noticed from experience. Basjoo can be real slow growing in heat and, BTW, envy your Bordelon (hope to have better luck with that this coming spring)!
You wouldn't believe how many types of nanners there are to chose from :). If ya have any questions about using the forum, just ask! Enjoy!
