Oh I am so excited because a very kind soul from this forum has mailed me a Siam Ruby banana plant!!!

: O

This thread will be a place for me to document my success, and show how it is doing. I am hoping it may arrive in the mail today. I have a nice big pot ready for it when it gets here, with some terrific compost to pot it up in. How thrilling to have this gorgeous and stunning variety.

I'll let ya's know when it arrives...

Awesome! Glad to hear about your SR...they're really stunning plants. How big is yours? Do you have pictures? Mine is getting pretty tall now (up to my chest) and is doing pretty well. Hope you have great success with yours!

It hasn't actually arrived yet, but I am hoping it will show up for me today. Excited is actually an understatement - more like ecstatic.

Yes, I am staring at the pot constantly, imagining my new red beauty in it. Well I am told that it is not really small but not super big either.

Pictures? Goodness yes, I am the queen of pictures, so not to worry. Fingers crossed that I get to shower it with love and care today...

I am still waiting for it to arrive - maybe tomorrow. Snail mail is never reliable. As soon as it does get here, you guys wil be informed.

Thanks for the tips about light - yup knew that. I will have it in nothing but full sun.

Hey, did you get my special message on one of the other Threads?

If not, it went like this:
A special note to LilRaverBoi,
How come you always get in a response to a thread before I do?
Are you glued to your computer?:ha:

Nah...I didn't get a message. How was it sent?

But for the record, I am well-known for being quick to reply to things and habitually active both here and on the forum I moderate (Electronic Dance Music Community - GenXGlow.com (http://www.genxglow.com)). LOL.

Well, I got my Siam Ruby yesterday in the mail!!!!!

I am so grateful to have it and cannot thank Bob enough. I had some of my most prized potted plants stolen from me a short time ago and Bob was so kind to offer me a Siam Ruby to make me feel better. He also sent me some other amazing plants as a surprise...

~ Plumeria
~ High Color Mini banana
~ Date Palm

I nearly fainted when I opened the 2 & 1/2 foot long box, and saw all these wonderful plants inside - wow. Thank you once again, Bob. You're just the best, and I have pretty much forgotten the nightmare that happened a couple weeks back.

I know you all wanna see a picture of my Siam Ruby, but she's just a stump right now, so give her time to recuperate. I am just so glad to have her here with me now. How fun and exciting.

Here's a shot of my Plumeria branch - just because it's too nice not to show...

Here's how the flowers will look and they are very fragrant too...

When my Siam Ruby gets going, I'll be sure to show a shot. Thank you, Bob!

Plumeria are super easy to grow. I know that stokes tropicals used to have a marvelous collection but I never bought any of these from them. I never sell my plants , just give away the extras. Peoples thanks and generosity in return is worth much more than the few bucks I'd probably squander anyway.

More like stop telling them what's inside your package, Wolfebc! Be like Bob, and write 'children's toys inside'!!!

: O

I do the same though - especially when I mail to the US. I just lie! No harm done - I know my stuff is clean.

Ok, here's the Siam Ruby, but it is in really bad shape right now...

Thanks, what a nice offer. I would really like to see a pic one day when
your plumeria flowers.
I was thinking they might be a delicate tropical plant that might
be hard to take care of and not ship very well. Thanks to Bob, I
realized thats not so.
:02: o we grow them here in Vegas there vary tough plants can take alot of heat and dry condtions and a saprising amount of cold but really they dont like frost
