![]() I bought this plant from Lowes a couple of years ago. It was labeled Ensete Glaucum. It was about the same size then that it is now (it did freeze back to the ground this past winter). Anyways, I have seen pics of big Ensete Glaucums. But mine is just not growing much at all...it's like it's just barely hanging on or something. I keep it on a drip system, and I have fertilized it twice already this year. Am I doing something wrong, or do I just have a dwarf variety or something?

Can we get some pictures of the pseudostem? Also, did it start as one plant? If so, it's NOT an Ensete....ensete's do not produce pups. It's very possible it was mislabeled (pretty common at stores like that).

Yeah, definitely NOT an Ensete. Something in the Cavendish family.

just looking at the grass around it i can tell you don't water enough if you did that grass would be growing like gaing busters and looking at it and your Maurellii i don't think you are feeding adequately Bananas are some of the heaviest feeders i know of the require a food something like 10-10-10 or 20-20-20 is good the really don't need much P at all but its hard to find foods formulated for Bananas Richard sells one called K-Mag i use its fantastic! out of all the formulas I've used it promotes the best growth even in temps well in to the 100s
