so its about 4AM right now, and i just went outside to check my 2 basjoos and the Musella, i did this because i knew it was going to be a cold night, and it is, its 21°F/-6°C out right now (but thats normal, not the amazing part), whats amazing is that the bananas are perfectly fine. no cold damage at all, there is even frost on the windshields but the plants are completely fine! Mine seem to do this for some reason, I cant imagine a microclimate in a 4x8ft space that is 11°F warmer than the surrounding area, but hey, im not complaining!

Must be some anti-freeze in the water.:nanabath:

Its a dry cold! Congrats. So my basjoo is really frost hardy at 8500 feet, but I know from experience that it doesn't take that here without major damage.

:coldbanana: Wow, Gabe! 21F in early September...yikes. You need to move way down south, man. With your banana growing hobby, your climate just isn't quite the most desirable! I though here in zone 7 was rough...

Did you get my last email?

Yeah Frank. I was talking to him the other day ( It was the 28th of August) and he hit the upper 20s that night. Can you imagine that? I can't. I have issues like you with my z7.

I agree, 21 is too cold for any day much less in September.

Gabe-how did they look the following morning? I have seen that some of my plants look okay when the first frost of the season is on the plant in the early morning, only to have the leaves "melt" when the sun comes out. I hope they are still going strong.

No where near 21 here, and won't be for quite awhile, but highs have been in the 80's. All my plants are doing so much better. Gotta love September weather!

By the way.. cut another couple of Musella pups. Yours for the pick up!
