I have a Dwarf Cavendish that is trying to put out four leaves at once one inside the other. what should I do cut the stem back or just let it be?

Wait til the first starts to unfurling and then cut the parts that hold the next leaf. That should help. But someone here posted also, that he simply cuts the P-stem a few inches back and the problem usually disappears as quietly, as it came.

Got any pics? It would be a shame if you cut into a bud.

IT split the stem this morning and one of the leaves were turning brown so I cut out the brown one and trim the split stem down to the center leaf. I also saw that a pup had broken ground over night and has already one leaf open and another coming out.
