I agree with Seans comments.
I have visited various Musa related sites / noticeboards but I feel very much at home with this one.
Nice to meet you all.
I will stay on board. One problem I find is that navigation is a bit involved.
Anyway. avid Banana grower in UK.
Got loads of plants (26 in all about 18 varieties). Fighting against English weather - high winds my biggest problem.
Name is Sidney Parker.
Best wishes to all. :D

Ask JoeReal if he has a suggestion for that. He's the resident grafting expert.

I couldn't seem to grow peaches even here in GA. Plant grew and produced the second year but died the third, the clay here gets them eventually. That is why I keep my banana plants in pots when I can, afraid I will lose the good ones to the red clay, only so much soil ammending you can do!

What's the usual chilling hours over there during the winter? Florida have some specific peaches suited for very low chilling hours. Also, for Georgians, there is a Peach Guardians rootstock which should be longer lasting than the current rootstocks. UGa have helped develop this one, you can google for Peach Guardian Rootstock.
in my area, we only get down to the low 50's maybe a handful of days in winter

That's a tough one Sean! Perhaps you need to contact your local agricultural extension officer in your county.
