This was my first banana tree ever. I now of course have many and gave a lot of them away.(sound familiar?)
Finally after 3 years I have my first bloom!:woohoonaner:
This is pretty exciting since I have never seen a banana tree bloom in real life.
I'm still not sure what kind it is. maybe the bloom will idenify the banana species.
I'll keep the pics coming through the blooming process.

I'd guess Orinoco.
Hey I've spent quite a bit of time on your bbq website. Didn't know you were here too!

I have discussed the fact that it was an Orinoco before. I figured we would have a better guess after it bloomed.
Small world huh?
Some of the TQJ members say "I'm going banans" when I'm over here.
I posted the bloom over there this morning too.
I really havn't had much time to spend on any of the forums here lately.

How many leaves did you have on the plant when it bloomed?
General question for all: approximately how many will you have on the plants when it will flower? I have read everything from 6 leaves to 20 leaves.
Help?

I was told it would be 35 leaves or 11 moths. I have no idea how many leaves it actually had before it bloomed.

Rosedale's has been said to be to be true KC bbq sauce. It was good.
I'm partial to head country, but I grew up in ponca city.
I like some memphis style sauce too. Perfect for pulled pork nachos.
Congrats, how exciting.

I wanted to try growing some different types but we plan on buying a new house soon. have to wait and see.
