Hi,
First post on this site....I am in the pacific northwest of north america (zone 8, some microclimate of zone 9) and have a question about my musa basjoo! I have both Musa basjoo and sikkimensis (hookerii). The basjoo has grown well, overwintered well, and given out many new pups this year. So, after reading the tutorial on this site, we broke away 3 pups. We backfilled those holes well, and planted the pups in new containers as they are 3 feet tall (turned out had great corms and roots too). We watered well and placed them in the sun (~30 C/78-80 F here today). AFter a a few hours, they are drooping! The poor leaves are all falling over and the plants look stressed. Did I over-water them? Perhaps too many hours in the hot sun right away?
Help!
thanks

First, welcome to the site. You'll love it here. Second, this is a normal reaction for the plant. Wait a few days and it should pickup. Don't overwater during this time as rot can set in. Good luck.

Welcome aboard, Honolua :) !
Howard's right on target. I grow Basjoo & Sikkimensis too (and 7 other types). The droop's normal & overwatering Can lead to corm-rot.
Hope ya have a fun & rewarding time here! I have :).
