The fruit to the left are Sugar apples.

Yep. Sometimes these are understandably confused with Cherimoya (Annona cherimola), but Sugar Apple is a different species (Annona squamosa). For more information, see: Sugar Apple (http://www.hort.purdue.edu/newcrop/morton/sugar_apple.html)

Perhaps some of you have photos of Sugar Apples in your yard or market?

Which one is more tender Cherimoya or sugar apple? Can it be grown here at zone 9?
