I killed mine by accident earlier this year. A fermentation bucket fell on my healthy growing Dwarf Namwah Pearl, it was cut and squashed good, and it never came back (most TC plants do not come back when they're cut or squashed as the corms are tiny). So I ordered again, only that it is more expensive by $3 this year. :(

Just ordered one from wellspring gardens, hoping that it would be bigger than the ones off ebay. It was a little more expensive, but they had a one cent plant deal for alocasia borneo giant that seemed like a great deal since I also killed both those plants last year.

I'm pretty sure Wellspring Gardens are the same people selling on ebay. :0491:

Yep, same place.
I just got an e-mail notification from the USPS that a package was being shipped to me today from them, so it looks like at least some are on their way to us.

This is the site that is selling them on ebay... so everyone doesn't have to bid the price up on ebay. I've bought from them before and they were a pretty good seller.

Thanks for the link, now I can finally see the variegation people keep telling me about!

Do these really show even minor variegation when they mature? I've seen small ones and they were just small green banana plants.

If you go to the link you provided and click on the picture to enlarge it you can see some dark variegation on one of the leaves.

I saw that but I'd also like to hear it from someone other than a person trying to sell it. Give me three minutes with photoshop and I can turn a basjoo into an AeAe :nanawhopp:
I've seen others about the same size as the one shown in that pic and they didn't show any variegation. I'd like to pick up a Namwa Pearl but I'd first like to understand if it's like cleopatra canna (some strains have puple/green striped foliage and others are all green) or if they all get a pearl variegation. The source could be the key :)

Oh wow, I checked the link for Eldon Access, and they cant be but 7 or 8 miles from me. I feel a trip coming up....
I just got mine from Eldon, I arranged for it to arrive today. I have to say I'm happy about it, the plant is small but true to the size posted on their website. I liked that the plants I received did show that slight faint variegation. I know some of the plants purchased on ebay last year was nothing more than a pale green banana. I decided to give it another try after seeing what I think was a fairly large specimen of what was described as a "Pearl." It was incredible, pure white new emergent leaves that would eventually fade into a slightly variegated green leaf banana. But somehow I doubt what I received will achieve that kind of incredible variegation.

Got mine yesterday. I have to say it, it was very well-packed and about 6" tall without the pot. Now it's happily growing on my 1 gal. pot.:2748:
Thinking about getting another one.
