Hello Everyone!

I'm new to the site and I thought I might as well post this question and dive right in. :parachutenanner:

I received a banana as a bonus in a plant trade a couple of years ago. It looks like it might be a dwarf Cavendish of some sort, but I'm not certain. Does anyone have a good idea of what it might be?

The leaves are solid green on the top side with no red markings, and there is occasionally reddish coloration limited to the base of the underside of the leaf stalk/midrib. The main portion of the underside of the leaves are a solid green. The color of the flowers and the bracts are a maroon/bright burgundy.

I've uploaded the two photos to my gallery, so hopefully they will appear as part of this thread. This is my first posting so I'm not sure if the photos will only be in my gallery or will somehow show up as attachments to this post. I guess I'll see in a sec. lol

Hmm. Now I know! The photos are in my gallery. lol

Thanks for any ID info you might be able to share. I'd really like to know which musa this is. :-)

Here's your photo - you need to copy the line of code at the bottom of the photo in the gallery, which says "code for bulletin boards" and paste it into the text of your message.

Looks like an Orinoco to me, or perhaps perhaps an Ice Cream; I'd go with Orinoco because the bracts are more elongated like the ones in your photo. DCs don't have that powdery stuff on the upper bracts, and their flowers are yellow.
