Default Unknown plant desperately looking forward to be IDed

HI guys and gals,
I would need your help in IDing this plant. It came with a batch of tropical plants as small, unidentified bulb, probably dug up with other plants. And so I took it.

Would you be able to at least point me in the good direction as I want to know more about it. So far I've inly found out, that it's biorhytm is more precise than swiss watch and it wakes up and goes dormant once a year periodically each year, producing more bulbs in the next generation.
It grows to this height in about a week in a form of pointed spear that opens in the end and spreads the leaf arms. It than dies about 5 months later and is dormant, producing new bulb and again several spears appear.

I'd say Konjac as well. They're lovely plants.

I'm no plant ID expert, but I was actually thinking it looked like it was in the amorphophallus family. When I have more space to grow plants, I kinda wanna get an Amorphophallus titanum. Don't ask me why, the flowers supposedly smell very strongly like rotting flesh, but I think it's such a unique plant and would love to try my hand at one!

Cause really....how freakin' cool is this flower???

Ou you don't really know what rotten flesh smell is until you see and smell a large, 40m high Ginkgo biloba tree flowering.

The konjac is a really nice plant. It does well for me outside without any protection year round (of course it's a dieback perennial in the winter).

Actually we have a lot of large ginkgos around here too. They smell more like a combination of dirty feet, cat poop and vomit than rotten flesh....but equally disgusting, nonetheless! LOL.

I have konjacs as well. My largest is about 3ft/1m tall. I had one bloom a couple of years ago and it was horribly rancid! Please excuse the cell phone photo of the bloom, it was about 12" tall from the base of the flower to the tip. The flower lasted for a couple of weeks and then shriveled up. They need to be 3-5 years to bloom.

They will die down and go dormant in the fall, supposedly they are zone 5 hardy with some protection. Keep in mind that they will multiply very rapidly and if you do plant them in the ground you may never get rid of them. I'll post a photo of my current pot load of them tomorrow.

They are really quite cool by the pictures I've seen. If it wasn't for the smell....hmmm. I'm pretty sure at least certain varieties are known as 'corpse flowers.'

Well, certainly Big Stinky (A. titanum) is pretty gross. If you've ever smelled a 5-day old rotting cow carcasse, you'd have a good idea. They're really neat plants though.

It could also be of the genus Dracunculus. Look up images of Dracunculus vulgaris and see what you find. Our bulb guy used to grow these at MBG and they are just foul smelling for the first two or three days they are open. I think Voodoo lily is the common name.

This is my current pot full of konjacs, about 20 all together with another handful starting to stick out of the soil. Overall height is about 3ft and just short of 18in across . The largest one should bloom for me next year.
