Do you know what is happening?
I have this unknown banana that has had a green stem from the corm and up the rest of the plant since it has been planted and growing in my yard these past 2 years. Now about a month or two the stem has been turning pink.Do you know what is happening to this banana?I will try to post some pictures soon.http://i633.photobucket.com/albums/uu59/SOCALROCKER64/BananaPinkPseudostem.jpg

Thank's

Mitch

A lot of bananas turn pink on the PS as they grow, or maybe you have a Rose, or even a Red. Pictures would be most helpful!

Not sure what causes it but that's totaly normal. You'll have to wait to see what it is!

If you mean that grey in the upper P-stem I would say either insect/animal damage or some sort of damage to P-stem. THis happens, when the tissue is scarred or simply damaged deeply enough and then it starts to change in such a strange mush. Just let it be. If it progresses, then there might be an infection in the wound.

Can't say that I have seen that - but as long as the leaves are healthy, I woudn't sweat it. Most of the reds are quite red when the emerge, and fade more to a dirty green as they are exposed to the sunlight, so I'm thinking it it very unusual.
