:2791::2791:well im with one with a smile on my face:banana_pi,i bought an ensete maurelli that looked dead,decided to remove all the leaves and chopped the top off,gave it a drink of water and put it in the greenhouse,forgot about it,went to have a look today,and now i have 4 new pups,i thought that the ensete maurelli do not pup?i also have another ensete that i have damaged the centre,still waiting:bed:,nothing to report as of yet,will let you banana :waving:lovers know over the next few weeks,on how i get on.please have a look in my gallery of the ensete maurelli and her new babies,im a happy bunnie today yippee:0517::camelnaner:
Jazz, sandy0225 had a good thread on this: Ensete maurelii red creating pups. I don't know how to provide link but it will come up in a search, She damaged the top portion and the plant put out a bunch of pups. Funny thing I got a couple from her and one of those now has a pup. Congrats happy bunnie!:woohoonaner:

thanks bob its nice that you always come back to my threads:woohoonaner:yes i have seen the thread about it,thats what gave me the idea,and tog gave me so much help and advice about pupping the ensete maurelli too,damm i and all of us will miss him so much,he was like a banana king:waving:

This is not my Maurelii as I managed to leave my big one planted out in the worst winter for 20 Years :eek: I did try digging it up and propping the corm but it was dead.
This is a row of pots containing the bases of E Maurelii and dozens of pups. Pic was taken at a recent forum visit to Urban Jungle nr Norwich, UK.

I'm almost tempted to pay 15 quid in Homebase for one of those, just so I can get it to pup. :drum:

its a pretty drastic proceeder to get a Maurellii to pup one i would not be wiling to undertake except in the most extreme of circumstances

hi paulo:woohoonaner:it is a bit drastic,but the plant i bought was near dead and i got it very cheap:lurk:so i had nothing to lose:goteam:now i have pups,im a happy bunnie:0517:im going to try ensete ventricosum next will let you know how i get on:waving:
