Yesterday I planted my banana seeds (four varieties) from three different sources. I havn't tried growing bananas before so I don't know how successful my strike rate will be, but here's hoping.
By the way, the varieties are M. Sikkimensis, dwarf Cavendish and two different types of M. Ornata.

Good luck Peter, you never know what kind results you'll get from banana seed but you may have some in seedlings in a month if you're lucky.

Dwarf Cavendish from seed?

That's what this ebay item says

Dwarf Cavendish Banana 5 Seeds - Musa acuminata - SALE* - eBay (item 370194470404 end time Jun-27-09 12:14:49 PDT) (http://cgi.ebay.com/Dwarf-Cavendish-Banana-5-Seeds-Musa-acuminata-SALE_W0QQitemZ370194470404QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0? hash=item56314f5604&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1205%7C240%3A1318%7C3 01%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50)

You don't have to argue with them, there is all kinds of misunderstanding/fraud on ebay with banana seeds (noting the famous Aeae banana seeds which are sometimes sold on ebay) but there is no such thing as Dwarf Cavendish seeds. I'm sure they are some type of banana seed, but the plants from them will not be Dwarf Cavendish.
