Ok, this is a long shot since I do not have info about how large it gets or a pic of a bloom but I have a Banana from seeds acquired from Fairchild. It is something they are currently growing there. The seeds came from when David was there. The leaves are a light almost lime green and the bottom of the leaves are VERY waxy feeling almost comparable to my Kluay pa Thai Ensete. In bright light the backs of the leaves almost look white. I wish I had more info but for the most part i'm curious if anyone thinks it's an ornamental variety or not?

Just to add a little more info. It was grown from seeds planted a year ago and it's currently about 4 foot tall. Is it possibly Musa balbisiana var. liukiuensis?

It does look rather M. balbisiana like, and I know they had both M. balbisiana var. liukiuensis as well as a more standard form, so I suppose it could be one of those. They had a few M. acuminata which it doesn't look like at all, nor does it look like a Rhodochlamys. You know how it goes...keep checking back and hopefully one day we can nail it down.
