This is copied over from HOS forum and below link should do it.
HOS Forums - View topic - Google Squared: Apple Varieties (http://www.homeorchardsociety.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1678)
This feature is probably already in use and can connect somehow with wiki I guess.
Instead of copy / paste instantly old stuff in here, how about clicking on link above instead.

This is the link the above post refers to:
apple varieties - Google Squared (http://www.google.com/squared/search?q=apple+varieties)
That is an interesting twist on the wiki concept. Our wiki, of course, is here:
Main Page - Bananas Wiki (http://www.bananas.org/wiki/)

thx!
So - it was possibly a worthwhile contribution and was apparently not known of yet. kewl! Anyway - it appears that this tool could be used to make a 'quick and dirty' spreadsheet of nanna varieties. It can go out and hunt for the input, and it can be saved, perfected, tweeked etc. after the fact. Now let us see Microsoft try to pull such a cleaver and FREE trick! lol
I knew of our wiki and thought this tool was possibly already part of our wiki. It likely soon will be.
I like the idea of opensource spreadsheets in competition w/Microsoft anyway! They should be cross compatible or easy to export back and forth.

well done! when i whipped up my first one w/o saving it became apparent that the tool can be used and the database/spreadsheet can evolve. other values or columns can be chosen or added. i really like the 'embedded' source showing where it pulls from! good stuff!

everyone can add to it and add info and we can produce a A+ database of info.

but there is some kind of way to 'save' it or 'save as' to the wiki. it is saving currently for you and came up for me. but we can have issues with conflicting versions perhaps.
i used to do stuff at Hughes Aircraft Co. that involved keeping a master copy and lots adding to it. I COULD BE WRONG ABOUT THIS!!!!! but we should know for sure so we don't have people unhappy and/or wasting time.

I like the extensive wiki we have here at bananas.org and wish more people would contribute photos and information to it. While the Google Squared appears to be a handy service, I'm concerned that participation in banana information there would dilute/reduce participation in the wiki we've got already. Just my $.02.

The Daves garden definately has good info but inaccuracies are there. Mostly the hardiness needs updating. As an example, they have Little Prince at 8 and still have some at only 9 when they also are 8.
