I found a variegated Dwarf Brazilian in one of the tissue culture vessels where I work, so I took it out and grew it for a little bit to see if it would keep its variegation but after a few leaves it turned all green. I gave it away to a friend and he just sent me this photo, the first pup it produced is now producing variegated leaves. I have another one which appears to be stable as well, these are 2 variegated plants of the 4 or so I have seen produced from the tens of thousands of plants I have seen in the lab.

Here is the other one I found that is not too strongly variegated but appears stable.

Ah... so that's the reason why you always look so busy in the lab making your sups think you are such a hard working guy...:ha::ha::ha:
Btw, good catch, keep it up!:ha:

Nice plants! I think I remember you posting some time ago about a variegated one you found in the lab.

I am not much into variegation, but I must say the light variegation combined with the small red flecks of the younger leaves looks pretty neat.

Unlike Dar, I go gah gah for variegated bananas. Pete can attest to that. I'd love to get a pup of each of those!
Do you think it is a mutation of the tissue culture process itself that caused the variegation?
Thanks for sharing,
Harvey
