It seems as though it's banana season around my house. I have at least eight banana plants that have either bananas or blooms on them at the moment. Some plants even have two sets of stems giving bananas at the same time.

I'm there!

Damn, I really love living in the midwest, but all you people with your year-round banana-growing climates really make me jealous, sometimes! I hate winter anyway, but I like the people/vibe and the rest of the seasons here.

Congrats on your successes though! And great pics!

I remember seeing pics of your place 1-2 yrs ago. You were still working on landscaping -- nice job!

Don't feel bad, Patty...I'm with ya there! I'm from Iowa and though I don't live there right now, I'll be back when grad school is over. Winter sucks for bananas, but it really is a great place to live beyond that.

And saltydad....spring is by far my FAVORITE season!

Thanks, but there is still alot of landscape work left to be done. Its not quite year round growing season for bananas here though. It gets to mid 20's in the winter at night.

Four more new blooms today. That makes twelve total fruiting at the moment. I'm not quite sure why everything is going "bananas" at that moment.
Sorry about the crap pun!

Stop by my place in january then, only about half the powder and ice as you! So, might make you feel a little warmer here!

Just don't drive down the gravel road to my house, Patty. We frequently have 8-10 foot drifts of snow in certain spots (they've been easily over 12' before) during the winter. It's like driving through a snow tunnel...not cool. And yeah...add some 10 mph winds and you're not going anywhere....even with a big tractor.

Both of my Rajapuris have two stems fruiting at the same time. Is this normal?

Your Raja Puri sounds more like the Double Mahoi to me.
