Hi I have a ? I recently transplanted my banana plant from inside to outside. was doing great inside in front of a window with a grow light. Now it is outside, a good amount of sun, and the leaves are folding in! the spines seem good. What could this be from????? Thanks:woohoonaner:

if you transplanted it it is shock if u just moved it out side the leaves do that in the heat they will open up at night and on cloudy days it is normal

Yeah, mine do that during the day too. I think it's their own form of protection against the heat. They kinda fold downward during the hot part of the day, then open back up at night. Nothing to worry about.

Welcome to the organization Tenpoint!

The leaves will fold in the heat of the day, it is more pronounced when it is hot or water stressed.

A larger pot will allow for more root support and greater leaf transpiration and growth.

Welcome to the organization once again, and good growing!! :2239:

hey i just wanted to add if they don't open at night it means the plant has gone in to photoresperation and thats bad they plant is living of its stored food and can die if it goes on long enough so if that happens shad eit and water the hell out of it until it comes out of it mostly this happens in temps above 100 deg feh

Welcome Tenpoint! :goteam: Don't worry about your 'naner cos it is just a little stressed from the extra heat outdoors. Give it a little time and lots of water and all will be back to normal. All the best!
