Got this one that was identified as a Dwarf Brazilian to the person who sent it to me. However - I assume that the DB is mostly green, right? Is there a chance this young keiki is a Dwarf Brazilian or was the person who shared it with me misled?

Not sure, I don't have a Dwarf Brazillian banana, but here you go.

Thanks! How'd you do that? I've never been able to get that to work with images in our gallery.
A friend seems to think it may be a Musa Bordelon. I think I can safely say that it is not a Dwarf Brazilian. Gonna have to rush out and get one. This nanner, tho, is still very pretty! Will look very nice in the flower beds with some ferns and hostas and whatnot...
Be well,
Mike

Okay, my source got the parent at Stokes Tropicals and they clearly mixed the order up since the Dwarf Brazilian - what he ordered - should be pretty much all green with perhaps a touch of pink on the pseudostem. They also sell the Musa Bordelon, so I'm tentatively identifying this lovely nanner as a Musa Bordelon and am happy to not have yet another unidentified. :)
Thanks,
Mike

Bordelon's underside is red like a blood banana, Musa Zebrina.
It gets a lot taller.
When yours gets enough pups, please sell me one or trade me for something. I think I would enjoy a Bordelon.

OH and about the image posting, you asked how I did that.
I made it even easier today to post images.
Read about it here:

I'll give you a holler soon as it starts pupping.
Thanks,
Mike

I think it can be a Musa sp. Burmese Blue! My Burmese Blue has the same leaves.

Unfortunately, the source where this was purchased - Stokes Tropicals - doesn't carry Burmese Blue, but they do carry Bordelon. I think it was just a classic mixup - which from what I've heard is something that seems to happen all too often with that company. Burmese Blue's are pretty! Will have to put that on my wish-list...
Be well,
Mike
