is the thia black the same as ele ele or is it a type of black balbasiana or is it something totally different that agristart introduced. ive noticed that there the only ones labeling it this and producing them that i have seen. cant find no info on it really can it get the black sig. or other deseases what is its max hieght and cold hardyness?

J, Thai Black = Musa balbisiana var Black P-stem Thai form.

It grows to 9+ft in p-stem height.

As far as cold tolerance, you can expect it to be the same as the normal M balbisiana.

The two I bought are still growing and happy. I am finally going to put them in the ground this year. As young plants, they are stunning.

Mine was black last year, but the pstem was damaged by the cold, so she is starting again from the corm. Love the looks of them when they are larger.

well that wont be for awhile there only 10 inches tall now but growing fast i love the black stem
