Hey Guys and Gals!

It's been some time since I've written here. All my Bananas are coming back great after a zone 8b Winter. I just fertilized them with the banana fertilizer I got from a friend. Who in turn bought on E-bay, I think.

Unfortunately a majority of the seeds I planted last year haven't seem to sprout. I went ahead and planted them in the garden just in case.

All the Best,

Glad to hear your plants are doing well after this winter. Join the club as far as low germination rate! I'll be putting a lot of mine outdoors as well when it warms up and have even resorted out of desperation to sticking a few in an unripe Cavendish and keeping that in a hot spot to see if that might provoke germination!

Thanks Bob. Yes, I had pretty good luck with some Snow Banana seeds, but these others haven't done a thing.

Great Growing,
Dean

Same here, I had immediate success with E. Glaucum and M. sikkimensis var Darjeeling giant both from ebay. Since then,.............:drum:..........nothing. You never really know how things like variety or freshness of seed will effect your success but , still fun to try.

Years back I had several varieties of seed and threw out the 'duds' after a few months. Some sprouted the next year, some sprouted last year, and two have sprouted this year.
This years appear to be E glaucum . I have no Idea which are what since I threw them into one big heap.

Wow! You give me hope then. I threw them in the garden in an area I wont till.
