I have always been a believer that natural cycles such as the four seasons are much better than humans trying to mimic nature, say in the lab. Let the earth help us gardeners sprout seeds, grow plants, and propagate them. The earth knows what to do! After all, humans haven't always been around to make sure nature behaves. Case in point...
After the 3 inches of rainfall over the past two days, I went out to check on the garden. Last fall, I buried a pink banana near my musa velutina/dasycarpa patch to see if any seeds would sprout. Over the winter I have tried to germinate the seeds using the 'plastic bag method' on a heat mat. Thus far, I've only gotten 1 seed to germinate out of 25. However, Mother Nature showed her stuff today by sprouting 6 seeds from the banana I buried last fall! I bow down to her graciousness and thank her for her supreme glory!
Here's to nature and its awesomeness! :bananas_b
