Maybe its just me But I dont think it would have the same effect as using them in a worm composter. I could be wrong Im not a pro at this just a theory

I put worms in mine and worm food on the surface...coffee grounds, leaves.....

The nightcrawlers find their way into my outdoor plants on their own.

All my pots have red worms in them , they seem to like it. I think they are doing better than the one's in my worm bin.

Ok I'll ask? Why the worms in potted plants...to break up the soil or do they provide nutrients?

Both. They aerate the soil and produce castings.

the main reason i wanted to try this is because I have this citrus plant in a pot and I used cheap potting soil. The citrus has so many thorns on it that repotting is like fighting a porcupine.I was hoping that worms would compost the soil for me.thanks for the input.
