How many are active? I looked at those first couple of years, and I didn't see too many names I recognized. Even several that were active when I joined, two years ago, are not around now.

I have also been wondering what has happened to many of our original members. I wonder if cold winters have done away with banana growing efforts of many members or if they've established what they want to grow and don't care to check out new varieties, ideas, etc. I was very active in a photography forum for a few years and still photograph a moderate amount (and have a lot of $$$ tied up in equipment), but I rarely visit the forum. I'm afraid that I'll catch the bug to buy something more and have to deal with my wife's wrath! LOL

Having a large number of members is different than having a large number of active members. I also belong to PalmTalk which has less than 4000 members but has 10 time the traffic online. Their biggest complaint? Too many lurkers. These forums are meant for interaction in my opinion.
So to all of you 'members' that watch, come on and participate!
Remember, there is no such thing as a dumb question, just dumb people who ask questions!:lurk:

I'm looking for new gear. I thought I wanted full frame but because I shoot action I think I'm better off with cropped which leads me to the Nikon D90. I like the Canon 50D also but I think the Nikon is producing better images from all the samples I've seen, and it has added bonus of HD video capture. Something about the Canon images seem too soft to me. Anyway I'm in the process of researching glass for both cameras and searching for deals on Craigslist. What a pain!

I agree-wish more were active. Those who are active are great, though. I love being a part of this group. Have a great day, everyone!

Congrats to Jarred, the Mods and the members here, for making this one of the most enjoyable forums on the net. There is virtually nowhere else you can go and get this kind of info in one place. 5000, WOW, now thats a big Bunch of Banana nuts! :bananas_b
