I've been listening to (and mixing!) a lot of UK hardcore lately. Really awesome, high energy stuff. Danceable too if you know how.

Roseanne Cash album "The River and the Thread". Not a bad cut on it. Also the Doors, "L.A. Woman" album, and selected other cuts from previous albums. And never get tired of John Hiatt....old, new, just about anything. Listen to Hiatt daily. If the Rolling Stones come on the radio I never switch; doesn't matter what. Probably appreciate them more now than when I was young and they were new on the scene. Oh yeah, and something hubby found by reading the liner notes from the first selection I listed---Gurf Morlix, "Crossroads". Worth a listen, if you like alt-country. And....an artist who's not only still alive but doesn't need a walker to get on stage.... :)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNWnD4jW974

And for all my fellow Americans who don't know... Slade wrote it and did it first and better... Plus Dave Hill's "metal nun" costume... One of his weirdest I think.

Up so early with my Labrador Retriever, ready to run around the neighborhood. I am thinking of letting them follow my lead without dog collars (http://www.petstreetmall.com/Dog-Collars-and-Dog-Leashes/445.html).

I don't listen to music much. I play music on my computer to keep it from going into sleep mode while I walk away to do something like cook. Then I listen a lot to this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6lYDZ8xGVY
As for something that isn't music, I prefer listening to loon calls:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfWYjtXqQbY
Loon calls could be one of the oldest sounds on Earth because loons have existed for about 65 million years. Dinosaurs may have heard them.
Loon calls sound best on a small lake with a tree lined shore because of the echoes:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ENNzjy8QjU
Loons can fly and swim but they can't walk because their legs are bent back for efficient swimming. They crawl onto land to crap thereby helping to keep lake waters clean.

Although I typically dislike country music, I listen to a lot of Patsy Cline because she has the clearest female voice that I have ever heard. In her most popular songs, her southern accent is barely noticeable. In her least popular songs, her southern accent is thick. I suspect that to reduce her accent, she carefully enunciated her words with outstanding control of her voice. You have to listen very carefully to fully appreciate the details in her voice. It's hard to believe that she died 8 months before John F. Kennedy died.

Do you have a southern accent? If so, do you prefer the songs in which Patsy's voice is more northernish? Those songs just seem clearer to me.
I guess I have a Chicago accent, but I don't hear it. I hear it when actors try to mimic it. Chicagoans don't say, "Da Bears." I clearly pronounce "th".

Yes ... I am Southern. Southerners ( most & older ones anyway) tend to pronouns words correctly. That was the way we were taught in school; slang words were not allowed (not true anymore in today's school). ... And, because we speak with a more 'open' mouth and slower, words are more clear. ... At one time Southerners who spoke correct English (vs ghetto slang ) were prized for TV announcers or advertising positions. We could speak and be understood without extra speech training.
I believe Patsy Cline's voice and speech was natural.
