Choking?

In reading through the site, I assume that when a new leaf begins to appear before the previous leaf has fully extended that it is called choking?

If that is the case, then my double mahoi is doing that. Should I assume that it's a function of too much fertilizer along with an excess of water?

Should I rescue the leaf to ensure that it is able to extend properly?

I have had a few plants do that but they worked it out on their own and normalized in time.

I think the term choking is used mostly for describing the condition of the flower bud getting stuck in the p-stem?

Choking refers to the flower opening and producing hands of bananas before it exits the p-stem normally. Sometimes they are sort of at the top of the p-stem, facing up (instead of hanging down), sometimes inside the stem, and sometimes they will break out through the side of the stem. Raja Puri is known for this behavior.

So what do we Do in this Case ?
I mean if its inside the stem ..
Do we cut the rest of the stem above the Flower ?

Just currious it hasnt happened to me Yet but just in case ..Tammy

Once a pseudostem produces fruit, it is done. It will quickly dry up, and I cut them down as soon as this starts happening. Since there is no longer a reason to protect the stem, anything you can do to allow the fruit to develop makes sense. It hasn't happened to me yet, but I'd free the blossom/fruit and try to leave as much stalk and foliage as possible for support.

I have Double mahois over at my parents home and when I brought the plant home from a previous two-headed plant, so I was sure I was going to get double heads(second gen.), I remember it showed a bit of "choking", but remember, it's two heads trying to make its way up.
