Hi all, I'm looking for photos of damage by Black and Yellow Sigatoka for an article on the disease. If anybody has them, I'd be most grateful.

Thanks!

Good evening Beth,

I have two photos of sigatoka infesting a Kofi and a SH 3640. The sigatoka is not too developed and I use Copper-sufate to reduce the infection. I'll put them on my gallery and you can let me know if you want to use them.

Sigatoka does not seem to get started here until September and by Dec it is well under control:2239:

Thanks! I'll definitely use the SH 3640 one, if you email it to me without a watermark!

Beth, I posted something on banana diseases on here once. I'll see if I can either find the post on here or I'll send the link if I can find that.

Beth,

Here is the link I was thinking of. While it doesn't have anything on Sigatoka that I can find it does have a lot of other great info. Possibly even some things we might want to look into getting permission to use for the magazine. Here you go: BANANA (Musa sp.) PEST AND DISEASE IMAGE GALLERY (Hawaii) (http://www.ctahr.hawaii.edu/nelsons/banana/)

Today I did a close check on my bananas and one of my Kofis and both of my SH 3640s were showing signs of Sigatoka. It is not the rainy season but we do get condensation on the banana leaves in the mornings. It is enough to get the infection going. :2239:

So far it has not been as bad as it is in more tropical areas. Our rainfall here is not great enough for it to cause total failure to produce. I also keep it under control with nutritional sprays and copper- sulfate sprays. I will post more pictures today, but only a few at a time so other people get their pictures longer on the sign-in page. :2239:
