New to this site and wanted to say hello to everyone. I'm also new to growing and maintaining banana plants and trees and found this site most helpful. My mother-in-law turned me on to banana plants with her Ensete ventricosum. Now I'm in the process of looking to buy and grow that species for fun, I just think they are beautiful plants to have both indoors and out. Anyway just wanted to say hello. Feel free to offer any type of advice as I am new to these types of plants and have read they are quite challenging. Thanks for having me

Matt

Welcome Matt. Bananas in Colorado aye? The local xeriscaping types are going to be after you! Seriously bananas are lots of fun to grow both indoors and out. You'll get all the help you could ask for here, good luck.

Hiya Matte and welcome to the .org!:goteam:

Yes, Ensete ventricosum are great plants to have. Check out the other gang members like the E glaucum - which germinates very well from seeds, the E superbum - an extremely lovely low growing species and also the E livingstonianum which has gorgeous leaves.

All the best! :ha:

Welcome to the organization Matt.

There is much accumulated knowledge of cold area banana growing here at Bananas dot org. The most important thing to remember is never give up on a banana!

Welcome once again.:2239:
