PHILDAVE

May have mentioned before, have a place in Jerez Spain. Since we purchased I have desparately been trying to grow Banana's there (England, Great) but Spain no good - mainly because we are unable to water them through the (very) long dry summer. Had same sort of problems too with a lot of my other plants - with one exception a YUCCA. Bought it for 3 Euro's about 3 years ago and it has, sorry had, really taken off - see photo :

We also have a caretaker who "keeps the grass under control" who obviously gives the work to Spanish locals (I presume - cost effective) Unfortunately, a somewhat over zealous local who decided to "trim" my Yucca, or rather my pride and joy. See Photo :http://home.freeuk.com/phildave/Yucca2.jpg
As you can imagine distraught is not the word.
It actually looks better than it is - the different angle does it way too much justice.
PPS Yes, the first photo was taken in January 2009 and the second last week (notice sunshine !!!)
