yes it is N. immutabilis. Very hard to grow. And from seed in zone 6 with no greenhouse almost impossible. I am trying to sprout seeds of the same plant right now. But I am not having any luck so far. It was probably beginners luck that first time. LOL
Great pic , Vick! I didn't know tropical lilies were available as seed. Haven't been in to water gardening for many years though. Keep'em coming.:goteam:

Bob N. immutabilis water lily is almost impossible to get. But I will take whatever I can get. I have a total of 180 tropical water lilies. I recently gave some away. I have about 62 different variety's. This is a passion with me. Bananas go with my water garden theme to have the tropical look. I just love it when everything is growing and blooming.

The only tropicals I have are Avalanche and Foxfire. I'm now searching for a red/pink. I have a temperate lily, Black Princess, that is a dark red/maroon. These will go with my lotus, Chawan basu, which is a white/lavender.

I have Jack Woods-Miami Rose-day bloomers and I have a lot of blue tropicals. Has your Chawan Basu bloomed? it is a white with Pink Edges. I have lost some lotus I doubt they survived the winter. . I had back problems last year and my lotus might of had damage because we had trouble lifing pots to put away. I left at least 9 lotus above ground and did not sink. I am pretty sure they did not make it because we had 2 days of 4*F and I am sure they froze solid. Oh well I still got some sunk.

I obtained the lotus last summer and, while it gave leaf growth prodigiously, no blooms yet. I still haven't pulled it up from the bottom. I hope it blooms away this season. Sorry about your back problems; after 20 years I finally gave in to surgery. It does tend to put some limits on our activities. With that many lilies, you must have some pond, or a multitude of barrels! :ha: Love to see pics of your garden and pond(s).
Howard and Vickie, going back almost 30 years but I still remember my favorite hardy lilly was called "Attraction" is it still around? I had that and a few wild yellow and white ones I pulled out of local ponds.

I have quite a few seeds for water lilies and lotuses (or would that be Loti???) j/k
Never got to plant any since moving to Vegas. Maybe Pauly can grow them in his new pond once he completes it.
